We started to shop around with all the usual big name insurers and almost pulled the trigger until a friend referred us to Southern Oak Insurance. Fast forward two years: We finally had to file a claim due to some minor hurricane damage. I would like to give my personal value on a small part of what Southern Oak insurance values customers. After Hurricane Sally – mind you I have not had to make a claim – No damage from Hurricane Sally.
The next day after the Hurricane came through our area. I received a call – that went to voicemail from Southern Oaks to make sure that we were ok and if we needed anything to give them a call.I have Never had an insurance company call me after any storm to see if we were ok.I know it may not be a claim and I can not give my value on that.But what insurance calls to see if my family is ok? “It’s very easy to give them 5 star reviews. When I first bought my house many years ago I was set up with another insurance company and they were terrible. They never returned my calls. They sent me in the physical mail a letter telling me I had 30 days to re-plumb my entire house. A friend referred me to Southern Oak and they were way more reasonable with expectations. They gave me an actual reasonable amount of time to update my new home. When I refinanced, my new mortgage company forgot to pay them (newrez, and they are terrible) but SouthernOak contacted me and gave me plenty of time to fix the issue. At one point in time I filed a roof claim and they were very responsive. The process took about 1 1/2 which is very common. They always had the portal updated so I always knew what was going on with my claim, followed up on everything I needed, and made the entire process painless. I am very happy to be with them and will continue as long as I can.”
